I have been blessed with some wonderful teachers and mentors. The one I mention most often, Jerome Birnbaum, really opened doors for me, and not only helped me discover what I needed to find, he also helped me reconcile some parts of my spiritual path. But then, others are not so fortunate. Some have had results which were reported in the mass media. Others you won't know about unless you know where to look.
